Treadmill Desk - Your Fitness Solution?

The Treadmill Desk has come to the fitness industry to help regular working people like you and me to get in shape. It's easy to make excuses for not exercising but there comes a point where you have to do it not only to look good but to improve your health. With this amazing exercise equipment you can work out while you do your work at home or something as simple as watching TV or using your computer.
A lot of people when they were young they liked to go to the gym to lift weights or do some cardio workout, but eventually work and family comes around, and there is no more time for exercise. Suddenly they found themself out of shape and started with health problems. They tried to go back to the gym but can't find the time to do it. Sounds familiar?, well this people have now the opportunity to get back in shape with this kind of exercise equipment, they can use it anytime of the day, without the need to leave their homes.
The treadmill desk was designed primarily for use in the office, people working there have to be at least 8 hours sitting at their desks. The doctors began recommending that every so often people rise from their seats and walked a bit around the office. In this way the people could avoid many illnesses and diseases.
The person responsible for carrying out this invention is Dr. James Levine from the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Levine's idea was that people who work in an office would replace the 8 hours spent sitting with a Treadmill Desk. People would walk slowly on the treadmill while doing their job. According to the studies of Dr. Levine, a person walking slowly one hour can burn about 100 extra calories, so imagine the amount of calories you can burn a day working on this treadmill instead of sitting.
This type of equipment is ideal for people who don't have time to go to a gym, for example, a housewife with children do not have much extra time, so going to a gym is almost impossible, but with a treadmill desk she can exercise without leaving home and while she do other things, another good example would be the elderly, for they it may be difficult to go out to a park to exercise, so this exercise equipment would be very helpful for them.

Flex Belt

Tone Your Abs Electronically with the Flex Belt
The abdominal muscles are some of the most difficult muscles to tone and tighten, yet keeping them in good shape is important not only for looking good, but also for avoiding back pain and improving posture and gait. While crunches -- tens of thousands of them -- were once the traditional prescription for developing strong ab muscles, thanks to developments in medical technology, the Flex Belt has made building a strong core a lot easier.
Using specially designed medical gel pads to target abdominal and oblique muscles -- the muscles along the side of your waist -- the Flex Belt is worn around the waist for 30 minutes each day, passing a very gentle current to the nerves and causing underlying muscles to contract and relax naturally. Because the current is focused on the areas of the muscles most responsible for achieving tone and strength, the results achieved by regular use rival and even surpass results achieved through crunches alone.
The Flex Belt also eliminates back and neck strain that can be caused by many exercises like sit-ups and crunches which lift the upper torso and head from the ground. These exercises cause the muscles in the back and neck to tense while unsupported, resulting in muscle soreness and strain. Since the belt is worn during normal activities - sitting, standing, even lounging - the muscles of the neck and back remain firmly supported and strain is avoided.
But the biggest benefit is the way the Flex Belt tones abdominal muscles, sculpting and strengthening them with minimal effort in just a single daily 30-minute session. Unlike some devices that claim to offer benefits but end up only slimming your wallet, the Flex Belt is based on sound science and proven results; in fact, it's the first abdominal toning belt system cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for firming, toning and strengthening the muscles of the abdomen.
In each 30-minute session, targeted muscles contract and relax 150 times, but all you'll feel is a series of mild contraction-relaxation cycles as muscles respond. As your muscles become stronger, the belt is designed to respond by mildly increasing the pulses over time to provide the most effective workout possible.. It's so effective, it offers a 60-day money-back guarantee to customers who aren't completely satisfied with the results they see in just two months.
Touted by professional trainers and celebrities alike, the belt can be worn while you go about your regular routines, at home, at work, while doing housework or caring for your kids -- even while watching television.
Few people like to spend hours exercising and getting and staying motivated are the biggest obstacles to becoming fit and toned. The Flex Belt lets you exercise without effort and while doing activities that are actually enjoyable, making it easy for anyone to have the toned core they've always wanted.

What Is Speed Rope Good For?

When trying to make a decision on what type of exercise you should do, it's important to stack up the benefits and weigh them against the possible draw backs. That way, you can be sure that you will get the very best results for your time, effort and sweat.
For instance, swimming is a great type of exercise but it does not load your bones so won't strengthen your skeleton, is only really effective if you know how to swim properly and isn't all that pleasant in the winter. You might not even live near a pool...
Then there is running. Running is very accessible but it means that you either need to head out in all weathers, take your chances with the traffic or limit yourself to running on a treadmill which, unless you've got one at your house, means you will need to join a fitness center.
Cycling is another good exercise alternative but weather, traffic, having to buy a bike and poor roads can make cycling for fitness a less than attractive proposition.
As excellent as running, swimming and cycling can be, you'll find some irrefutable drawbacks which mean they might not have what you're trying to find from a new exercise routine.
As is often the case, the best solution is often the simplest and when it comes to exercise, that means skipping rope. Also referred to as skipping, jumping rope is easy, effective and cheap. You can do it almost anywhere so when the climate is great you can head out into your garden and if it's poor, duck into your garage or commandeer the lounge and speed rope in front of the TV.
Cost-wise, skipping rope is hard to beat; an excellent top quality skipping rope will cost you no more than £20.00 and will last for years. You don't need to have £100 running shoes or other fancy equipment for speed rope; just some comfy clothes and regular workout shoes and you're away!
So long as you begin slowly and build up gradually, jumping rope is very safe and unless you decide to skip in the middle of a street, there is very little chance of suffering some kind of vehicular accident - anything that cannot be said about running or cycling.
Jumping rope offers a lot of bang for your physical exercise buck and works just about each muscle in your body while strengthening your heart and lungs. As any medical professional worth his salt will tell you; improved cardiovascular fitness is strongly linked to improved cardiovascular health so not only can jumping rope help you look great, you will feel great too.
So, what's jumping rope good for? Just about each aspect of your health and fitness as well as your bank balance. It's not a question of why should you speed rope but more a question of why shouldn't you?!
Keith Colladow is a personal trainer, health and fitness coach and writes for numerous online publications on a variety of topics. Check this out for the best speed rope for boxing and these: Speed Rope Amazon Reviews.

How To Get The Most From Weight Loss

Losing weight is not a simple thing, and it's important that you take it seriously. If you want to lose weight you will need good information, as well as dedication, organization and patience. In this way, you can put together an effective weight loss program that is right for your personality and goals. If you are committed to losing weight, you have to use the tips in this article.
You can lose weight by slowly reducing the number of calories you consume every day. It is always a good idea to cut at least five hundred calories from your daily diet.
A great way to lose weight is to join an organization like Jenny Craig. This provides you with a support network as well as a number of resources. You can even have meals delivered to your home, in some cases. If you have the money, joining an organization like this can be a great investment.
Hypnosis is one method available to help with weight loss. It may sound strange, but hypnosis is able to make lifestyle changes for some people and help them eat healthy.
Almost everyone loves french fries. Unfortunately, these foods can be the downfall in a weight loss program. However, you can have your french fries and still not sabotage your diet by baking instead of frying. Steamed vegetables are higher in nutrients and usually much tastier than vegetables cooked any other way. Use a spatula to loosen any caked-on fries, turn them over, then bake them for another half hour. These can be eaten with ketchup just like French fries, but you won't miss the deep-fried calories. You can thank Laurel's Kitchen cook book for these yummy treats.
Weight loss works for people best when you're able to pinpoint what is healthy for your body. For example, if you are someone who enjoys waking up early, set your alarm clock for one hour earlier and workout during this time. If you are a night owl, do your workout during the evening hours. If you don't like getting up, you probably won't want to get up super early.
One simple way to lose lots of weight is to do aerobic exercise. This type of exercise is commonly referred to as "cardio," and includes exercises that get your heart rate up like cycling, running and step aerobics. When you heighten you heart rate this is the best time to lose weight. Make it a point to engage in half an hour of cardio at least 3 times per week.
Sucking on an ice cube can help you curb your food cravings. Ice can quell cravings by the sheer presence of itself in your mouth.
When trying to lose weight, be sure to keep healthy snacks at home. Buy yourself a large resealable container. Buy fresh vegetables that you enjoy. Begin by prepping your veggies, then place them in a container filled with ice water. Store the container in your fridge. That way, you'll always have something to grab when you're on the go.
If you're trying to get your child to shed some pounds, it is crucial that they are sleeping enough. A child does most of his or her growing when sleeping; this burns plenty of calories. Children who are growing need to sleep for at least eight hours nightly. To make sure your children understand why sleep is important, feel free to explain to them how sleep affects their growth.
As you can see from this article, weight loss is made up of time, effort and strategies that help you attain your goals. Failure is less likely when you focus on these. The tips shared here can help you get results as long as you put your mind do it, and you will find yourself healthier and happier thanks to your weight loss.

Five Essential Pieces of Fitness Equipment For Starting a Home Gym

5 Great Pieces of Home Fitness Equipment
When it comes to home gym fitness equipment, there are 3 important factors to consider. They are portability, use, and cost. You want to make sure that your equipment fits in your home, that you actually use what you buy (getting the right products for your routine and goals), and that you are getting the best value for your money.
In this article, we are going to cover five pieces of fitness equipment that would make for a very good starting point for you to get a great workout in your home. First off, one of the most essential items in any home gym are hand weights, aka dumbbells. Hand weights are great for adding strength training to your overall home fitness routine. These days, hand weights come in a TON of different types, sizes and weights so it is important to give some thought to the types of movements you plan on doing with them. Typically, you want to purchase dumbbells in pairs and just build up your collection over time as the heavier you go the more expensive they can get.
The second item that should be considered in any health fitness equipment arsenal is the kettlebell. Kettlebells have become a very popular fitness product in the last few years. What's great about them is that you can do an almost limitless amount of different exercises and routines and you can get an entire body workout with just 1 or 2 kettlebells. They are especially great for home use because they are very portable, easy to store, and fairly inexpensive. You can even pop them in your car if you wanted to get a nice workout in the park! One drawback of kettlebells is that they take a little getting used to if you have never worked out with one before. They do come in a variety of sizes and weights as well and it is easy enough to find some good exercises online to get started.
One of the all-around best fitness equipment items for the home is the classic medicine ball. A medicine ball is basically a heavy ball that comes in a number of different sizes, weights and materials. They are a good item to consider as they are inexpensive and versatile. Perhaps more importantly they can give a good overall body workout, and they can be fun to use as well! What makes the medicine ball great is that there are tons of different moves and drills you can do with or without a partner, so if you enjoy working out with your girl, guy, child or significant other, it is really a great purchase. They are very portable as well so grab your partner and a medicine ball and start getting fit!
Of course, health fitness equipment usually includes some kind of a time keeping device. While some people might overlook this in their home gym, it is actually a very useful piece of equipment. It can be used for interval training, circuit training, for measuring your rest time, and perhaps most importantly it is great for motivation. Set some kind of timer on your device and when that device goes off, you know it's time to do work! This is an especially useful piece of home gym fitness equipment because when you work out at home, it is easy to get distracted or take longer rests than normal, so this will help keep you on track. There are also many apps available on your phone that can serve one. Best of all, this is one of the cheapest products you can get to help you with home fitness.
Last but not least is the stability ball (aka balance ball, physioball, exercise ball). Stability balls are absolutely fantastic for home gym fitness. They are very good for stability exercises (obviously), ab exercises, as a substitute for a weight bench, or any number of other fitness exercises. They come in a variety of sizes and colors as well and generally run anywhere from about $20-$50 bucks. This is simply one of the most essential and best pieces of fitness equipment you can get. The only real drawback to one of these balls is that they are bulky and kind of tough to store if you don't have a lot of space in your home.
So that is a quick rundown of five different products for your home gym equipment fitness needs. Remember you don't need all of these products to get started with exercising, but sometimes having some health fitness equipment in your house will get you motivated to take those first steps to getting in shape!
Finding the best home gym fitness equipment for yourself is critical to achieving your fitness goals. There are so many different exercise products and health fitness equipment to choose from that you can save a lot of time by finding and reading the reviews of products that interest you, and finding ones you will enjoy using.

Kettlebell Training Is A Great Way To Reduce Gym Fees

Kettlebell training is a great way to cut back on gym fees, get big, get ripped and feel good about yourself. A Kettlebell rack is just about the most important piece of home gym equipment you can purchase and the variety of training sessions you can conduct once in the possession of Kettlebells is absolutely brilliant from the perspective of the athlete.
Take an exercise bike for instance - often the first and only piece of equipment bought for the home gym. The exercise Bike is a great piece of equipment, this cannot be underestimated, and however there is not much you can do with in terms of variety. You can of course mix up your training by doing High Intensity Interval Training and slow long sessions of cardio but apart from that there is not much more for the exercise Bike to offer.
Purchasing a Kettlebell Rack and a decent set of Kettlebell weights will allow greater flexibility and training possibilities.
Heavy overload training sessions for building lean muscle mass and explosive powerare very easily achieved with a good set of Kettlebells with a decent weight range - most people will never need anything more than 24Kg Kettlebells at their heavier range and nothing more than 4Kg at their lightest range so as long as there are steps every 2-4 Kg in between most athletes of all standards will find it easy to perform decent kettlebell workouts.
Cardio sessions are also easily performed using Kettlebell weights - the athlete is simply required to choose one basic exercise such as the Kettlebell swing and perform high repetition sets using a light weight. For instance using a 6Kg performing sets of 100 reps with 2 minutes breaks in between for 10 sets will create a fantastic Oxygen deficit and create a great demand for the Heart and Lungs to work hard to help the body achieve the task required. In doing so you are obviously demanding your body to get fitter, use nutrients more efficiently and increase your metabolism.
The Kettlebell is the best piece of equipment for the home Gym as it is far more efficient than the Dumbbell as the same exercises are harder and burn more calories, better than any piece of home cardio equipment as again the full body can be used and circuits are easily built around the equipment and time constraints you have in order to achieve the goals you have set.
As the webmaster of http://www.intense-kettlebell-workouts.com/ I am often asked how to create the perfect home gym. As always, I would recommend a Kettlebell Rack but would also advise a Grappler machine and some sort of low impact cardio machine such as a crosstrainer or exercise Bike for variety if the space allows.

How to Find a Gym and Keep Fit When Travelling

I've travelled to various countries over the years, whether that's via flying, driving in a rickety bus for 20 hours straight or sleeping in a third world train with no air con. And yet, I always make an effort to keep fit and healthy throughout my world travels.
With obesity rates increasing throughout the developed world, (and also throughout the developing world), I make it a priority to work out at a gym at least three times a week. I know it can be damn hard to find a suitable gym when travelling and bouncing around from place to place, but I don't want to become another statistic, therefore keeping fit and healthy is something that I can't take for granted.
In saying that it can be really difficult at times to find a gym, even when you do a search on Google. This is so, particularly in developing countries whereby the number and quality of gyms varies a lot, having to contend with language barriers or even transportation issues. I'll however, show you the step by step methods I use to find a gym no matter where on earth I am. All you need is your laptop and a decent wifi connection.
1) Go to Google
2) Type in "City location" + Gym
3) From the search results ideally you want to find a review site submitted by an expat/traveller that has given at least 3-4 reviews of gyms near your current location.
4) Check out the website (if it exists) of the gym you want to go to. As a hack, I always call them up and say something like this: "Hi, I'm thinking about joining your gym and am wondering if you offer a free trial pass". Remember that not all gyms will state this on their website, for obvious reasons to avoid people taking advantage of their services and going from gym to gym for free. From my experience, this works about 50% of the time, and the worst they can say on the other line is no.
Once you found your chosen gym, you should go at a time when the gym is not busy. One of the most frustrating things is having to wait around for 10 minutes whilst someone else is hogging the benchpress with their mates. Most gyms are busy before and after work hours, i.e. 6-9am and 6-8pm. If you're a backpacker/traveller therefore go between 10-3pm (except lunch time), and you'll have no issue with waiting in line. I usually go mid morning, and find that only retirees or rich house wives are hanging around, and being a macho guy, the free weight section is usually free.
So, follow this simple 4 step process to finding a gym anywhere and you won't be disappointed.
Yours in health,
Richard

All About Refurbished Fitness Equipment

Most people today realize the importance of staying healthy and keeping their bodies in very good form. There are many reasons for making healthy choices and apart from healthy eating, getting physically active on a regular basis is also emphasized a great deal. Many people are now realizing how expensive it can be to become a member of a local gym and as a result, buying gym equipment to use at home is becoming a popular choice for most of them. Once of the easiest ways to ensure you get your own equipment is to consider buying refurbished fitness equipment.
While there are many reasons you can have for buying refurbished equipment, perhaps the issue of cost comes at the forefront. You should start by speaking to your doctor about your fitness level before embarking on an exercise regime. Thereafter, register briefly in a local gym for some trial period and while you are there, learn all you can about different forms of machines. Find out about their prices on online shops before seeking for refurbished ones; this way you will know how much money you will be saving.
Most of this fitness equipment you will be buying will have come from some of the most exclusive health clubs which will have been used and thereafter reinstated to the best quality possible. You want to avoid buying some cheap products that are sometimes very weak and dangerous without proper value for your money. You can end up getting some of the best brands at a reasonable price without breaking the bank.
You will be surprised why some of the refurbished equipment you buy at a budget ended up in those shops on the first place. In most cases, the owners discard them for very flimsy reasons. There are cases of original owners who return such fitness equipment simply because they fell out with their color. On the other hand are those that received scratches during the trial period or when they were being delivered. For these small reasons the sellers are always wiling to make a big cut and this is where you should probably benefit from.
As long as you make your purchase from a reputable business, you can be sure they will give you a warranty that equals what one gets when buying brand new equipment of the same caliber. You are also sure of getting high quality spare parts as well as service at costs that are low and affordable. Last but not least, those shops that deal with refurbished gym equipment always have a large variety such that you are sure of getting anything you want.
The author of this article is a health and fitness instructor and is currently working for Australia based fitness equipment company Aussie Fitness Equipment. The company is one of the leading suppliers of high end gym equipment and bodybuilding accessories.

Fitness Motivation Tips - 5 Clever Ways To Trick Yourself Into ...

Tired? No motivation? Don't feel like exercising right now? BUT... you keep looking in the mirror and don't like what you are seeing? Well, if you are looking for fitness motivation tips to get you up off your butt and start sweating, then this article is for you! However, I'm now going to yell, cuss, and fuss to get you pumped up. I'm going to share with you 5 pretty clever (and simple) ways you can actually "trick" yourself into exercising... even when you don't feel like doing something as simple as walking to your kitchen (lol)!
1. Go to youtube.com and type one of the following into the search bar: For men, type in pre-workout motivation. For women, type in female fitness motivation. Pick out at least 2 videos that are as relevant as possible to those search terms I mentioned a second ago. Watch those videos and then watch how much motivation you'll get to get up and get to work on improving your body!
2. Like to watch T.V.? Think I'm about to call you a couch potato and a lazy do-nothing? Don't worry, I'm not going to insult you! What I'm talking about here is taking your leisure time and turning it into a productive time for improving your body!
During every commercial break with a TV program or every 10 minutes during a movie, stand up and do 2 body weight workouts for 5 repetitions each! For example, you could do something like 5 jumping jacks and 5 push ups. To make it more fun and interesting, switch it up each time (i.e. - burpees, mountain climbers, lunges, squats, run in place, etc.).
To put this into perspective, let's say you watch 3 one hour T.V. shows throughout the day. During each show, there are let's say 5 commercial breaks. That would be a total of 15 commercial breaks for 3 shows. Now let's say you decide to do the 5 jumping jacks and 5 push ups. After watching all 3 shows, by the end of the day you would end up with 75 jumping jacks and 75 push ups!
3. For starter's, if you don't like going to the gym, you DO NOT HAVE TO! You can get an amazing body working out at home. You can use little equipment or no equipment at all with doing body weight exercises. Now, what I recommend you do if you do exercise at home is to make working out as easy as possible to get started with. Out of all the fitness motivation tips, this is probably the most important one. The reason why is because most of us usually don't have the motivation to START working out. Most of us are pretty okay with continuing and finishing a workout.
Now, to make things as easy as possible, what I'm talking about doing is making sure you have space readily available for you to start exercising, making sure you have whatever it is you use during your workout setup and ready to use, etc.
4. Listen to your favorite blood pumping music! There are certain songs that generate an adrenaline rush in me that provides a ton of energy... and what better way to utilize that energy than with exercising! I strongly recommend that you create a playlist of all your favorite songs that get's you pumped up. Play this music when you don't feel like exercising and watch what happens! Of course you also want to play this music while you workout as well to keep you energetic and motivated during your workout.
5. Change phrases. Instead of saying "I got to workout today", switch that around and say "I'm going to workout today". Saying "I got to workout today" makes exercising sound like a burden and saying "I'm going to workout today" makes it sound more like it is a part of your daily routine!
So, if you want easy fitness motivation tips to get you out of that mentality of making excuses and skipping workouts, then I highly recommend you give those 5 simple techniques a try. They worked great for me and now I'm at the point where I get upset if there is even a possibility that I may end up missing a workout!

Outdoor Fitness - Some Easy Tips

You probably don't want to get up every morning to hit the same place to work out at, do you? Workouts in the gym can get really boring, and it can even force you to withdraw from working out. You can have a hard time motivating yourself if you tend to routinely work out in the gym. But you have a good option in outdoor fitness workouts to keep your motivation level at a high.
If you enjoy some fresh air, then outdoor exercises can be your serious long-term companion, to whom you would love to come back again and again. It's even backed by scientific research that an outdoor exercise regimen can boost your stamina and strength by supplying more oxygen to you at a faster rate.
An Outdoor Fitness Regimen De-Stresses Your Mind
By now it's a well established scientific fact that outdoor exercises are really good for your mental and emotional, as well as your physical health. My grandma can really feel vindicated at such a claim, she's been saying this all my life! When you exercise outside in the green environment, your body releases stress hormones and helps your burdened mind to calm down a bit. The serene surroundings also lighten you up emotionally.
Some easy Outdoor Fitness Tips
1. Walking: At first, this seems an awkward inclusion into your outdoor fitness regimen list. People tend to associate fitness with something like dedicated military exercises, but they forget that simple things like walking can really boost their stamina, and can be done by anyone. Regular walking can cure many physical ailments, and is like a cure-all for all your health problems. It's much better for burning calories than going in for weight loss diets that force you to cut down on almost everything you eat.
2. Biking: This is something that is on everyone's lips when outdoor fitness exercise is mentioned. It keeps your legs in perfect shape, improves blood circulation, and you tend to drink a lot of water which helps to flush out the toxins from your body, thus improving your health too.
3. Yoga: Yoga is a great way to reconnect with your soul, and at the same time it helps you maintain physical fitness. People can do it in the comfort of their homes, but it's best to practice Yoga in natural surroundings, as doing Yoga means inhaling a great amount of oxygen- the purer it is the better. Military Fitness Tips - Achieve A Fast 1.5 Mile Run In 4 Weeks

Are you preparing for a military career with the US Armed Services? If so, are you ready to run your 1.5 - 3.0 mile PRT as part of your physical fitness qualifications? I've always hated running, and so this was the scariest part of my military application process. In this article I will give you a quick breakdown on how to prepare for a 1.5 - 3.0 mile timed run in just 4 weeks.
Most recruits are given very short notice regarding their physical fitness test as part of the military application. If this applies to you, and you have at least 4 weeks and unlimited motivation, you WILL be able to achieve your run, quite successfully by following these simple strategies.
Consider Before You Run
There are two important factors that you want to consider before taking on this challenge
  1. You must be physically able to do these exercises. (Check with a doctor to be sure)
  2. stretching, both BEFORE and AFTER working out is a must
If you do not stretch before and after working out you risk physical injury and muscle damage.
The First Week
The first week is all about getting your body and muscles used to the physical activity. We will start by tackling the distance without the endurance. Your goal should be to conquer double the distance of your required run. If your PRT is 1.5 miles, you will aim for 3, if your PRT is 3 miles, you should aim for 4-5 in the first week.
The first few days will be a simple walk, with no time limit. Make sure you stretch before you start, and keep yourself properly hydrated as you go. You can even listen to an audio ASVAB study guide to keep yourself motivated as you go. Do this 3 times the first week, alternating a rest day and walk day.
The Second Week
By this time your legs should be getting stronger and used to the distance. You should also start timing your total workout, just to keep track. You are still not looking to beat the clock. Mark your start time and alternate running and walking as follows:
First day: Run for 1 minute, walk for a minute, run for 1 minute, walk for 2 minutes, run for 1 minute, walk for 3 minutes, all the way till the end. It sounds easy but you may tire towards the end.
Next running day (after a day of rest) Run for 2 minutes at a time, then walk 2 minutes. Keep alternating running and walking.
By the end of the second week you should be able to run for 3-4 minutes, walk 3-4 minutes, and run again till you reach your distance goal.
The Third Week
By this time your legs are stronger, your lung capacity is increasing, and your endurance should be improving. In the third week your goal is to complete the ENTIRE run distance WITHOUT STOPPING TO WALK.
Mark your start time so that you can track your progress. Start out with a very slow run or even a jog. Focus on pacing yourself for the distance. In the third week your goal is to complete the entire run as a run, regardless of how long it takes. Be sure that you focus extra efforts into stretching before and after, and of course take a day or two to rest in between.
The Final Week
By the end of week 3 you should have been able to run the entire distance at a slow jog. In the fourth week of preparation you will be running for a timed distance. Be sure to stretch and hydrate well, and go for it. Keep a steady pace that you can comfortably maintain. Focus on lengthening your stride and leaning your body forward to increase your pace, and go for it.

Tips For Health And Fitness!

Fitness encompasses your physical and emotional self. When people get physically fit, they are healthy and happy. Read on for some ways to help you end the struggle and start getting fit the right way.
When you have a specific set of objectives leading to a goal, you will have built in motivation for your fitness plans. This helps you see and overcome obstacles without shying away from them. Having goals give you something to work towards.
Maintain a good pace of approximately one-hundred rpm while bicycling. You'll ride faster, but with less strain on your joints. This can be determined by simply counting how many times your right leg goes up every ten seconds, and multiplying that number by six. The resulting number is the rpm you should aim for.
Running can help your overall fitness. It burns calories, creates lean muscle, and helps the heart and lungs, and it may benefit your brain as well. Performing aerobic exercise enriches your blood with oxygen, which is then delivered to your brain. Among those suffering from depression, running has been shown to be as effective a treatment as prescription medications.
When you perform exercises that include such things as pullups or lat pulldowns, your thumb should not be wrapped. Placing your thumb next to your index finger will make you use less arm and more back in the exercises. Doing so is awkward at first, but targets the correct muscles.
When you begin running, it's important to run in three separate segments. Start running at a slower pace and gradually work up to more speed. In the final third, push hard to reach the finish. This pattern improves endurance and total distance over time.
You should feel energized, not exhausted, when you finish your workout. Cardiovascular activities like jogging, swimming, running and cycling are essential to a good workout regimen. Consider including strength training and try to work on different muscle groups each day.
Before running a sprint race you should prepare by working on a faster stride. You may try to run faster by stretching out your front leg when you run. However, when your front foot lands it should be in line with your torso. In order to better propel yourself, push with the toes of your back leg. As you practice and become familiar with the proper form you will find your speed increasing.
Consider unique ways to get fit. You don't have to go to the gym to get a fair amount of exercise. By finding activities that you enjoy, you will not become bored but rather look forward to your exercise.
Improve your contact skills when training for volleyball. Foosball is a great way to improve these. Foosball is fast and competitive, involving quick hand-eye coordination with lighting fast reflexes. Lots of practice will do wonders to enhancing these skills for you, and then you can carry them back to your main sport.
As illustrated in this article, it is certainly within your reach to become more fit, and doing so will make you proud of your accomplishment. You do not have to be ashamed of how badly you are out of shape any longer. If you use these tips, you will find yourself obtaining your fitness goals in no time!

Fitness Tips - Fitness Tips For Senior Citizens

As senior citizens get older it is very important to stay active in order to maintain overall health. Some of you cannot exercise like you use to, but you can still workout and keep safe at the same time. Here are some tips to help you.
I recommend checking with your doctor if you have not worked out in over a year. It is wise to get a check up once a year any way, so while your there ask about an exercise program.
It is important to do something that you enjoy when thinking about a fitness plan. It could be lifting weights or walking on a treadmill. Any exercise is better than nothing at all. I find that seniors love to workout provided that the exercise routines are fun.
Most seniors like to workout with a trainer or a partner. I feel the reason for this is that they feel comfortable with someone helping them with their exercises. If it makes them train harder and safer then it's great for them.
Some seniors nowadays are in such good shape they can help me workout. I'm always amazed at what some senior citizens can do in a gym. Quite a few of them are still very strong and muscular. I can only hope that I will be in that good of shape.
If you never worked out or starting to get back into the swing of things. I would start off very slow at first. The individual does not want to hurt themselves right off the starting block. Take your time and the strength and endurance will come back gradually. You will have some muscle soreness when starting off. Just don't overdo it at first. The body has ways to overcome muscle soreness with rest and proper nutrition.
Starting out a fitness plan for senior citizens, I would recommend setting some short- term goals to get going. It could be something like walking a block. Walking on the treadmill, or even lifting some light weights. The more goals you set the more likely the person will keep exercising and making progress.
Please make sure you stay hydrated by drinking water throughout your workouts. Staying hydrated will also help if you suffer from cramping.
Also please make sure you have good fitted sneakers. It's very important for your safety to have a nice pair of sneakers.
Please stretch before and after you exercise. Your body will love this and prevent injuries. As we get older our joints and ligaments shorten, so stretching helps to elongate the muscle.
As senior citizens it is wise to start a fitness routine in order to maintain a healthy body and mind. It won't take long once you have a fitness plan to see great results.
I'm writing this article to help you realize how important exercise and nutrition is to your overall health and physical appearance. Exercise and nutrition helps with arthritis, diabetes, depression, motivation, weight loss, lowering cholesterol, flexibility and muscle definition.

Five Fitness Tips That Every Woman Should Know

Women, unlike men face specific issues when it comes to fitness. From muffin tops to bulging lower abdomens to back wings to flabby arms, women have various body issues that they need to battle out. This is why women and men have different fitness routines because they have different problems to address. So for the women out there, let me share to you some health tips that you should know and incorporate to your fitness routines.
1. Good pacing and consistency is the key. Don't feel bad if you think you're not doing enough. There may be times that your schedule won't allow you to workout, don't worry too much about that. What's important is that you are committed and consistent to whatever fitness program you are into. Working out twice a week is fine as long as you do it regularly.
2. Take note of the goals that you've achieved. Focus on your fitness successes. If your goal is to lose weight, take note of how many pounds you lose, let's say, in a week. Focus on what you've achieved and use that as a new starting point until you reach your target weight.
3. Don't focus on just one type of exercise. Many women start their fitness routines with cardio exercises. While there is nothing wrong about that, it is best to mix up your routine from time to time. In one workout session make sure to have a combination of strength, cardio and flexibility exercises to get good results. This also prevents you from hitting a plateau so your workouts will always be effective.
4. Don't overexercise. If you think that you'll lose more weight if you workout for extended periods of time, then you're wrong. Unknown to many, working out for hours won't give any beneficial effect to your body. As a matter of fact, one hour at a time is enough to have an efficient workout. Exercising over extended periods of time can actually cause more harm to your body. It'll just strain your muscles and cause extreme fatigue.
5. Keep an eye on your heart rate. Many women tend to overlook their heart rate when working out. Ideally, women should workout at 75 to 85 percent of their maximum heart rate. If your heart rate is too low, then it means you are not working to your full potential. High heart rate, on the other hand, means that you are pushing yourself to a dangerous level.

Important Tips To Maintain Body Fitness

In the modern times, most people live busy lives as a result of this they often overlook important factors like their own body fitness which is important to live a healthy and happy life. Other than this, many people have the tendency to take medicines even for the smallest of health problems. If a person gets a headache he runs to the chemist and buys a medicine for it. If someone is not able to sleep he consumes a sleeping pill.
All these medicines not only affect the physical health of a person in the long term but it also has bad effects on the mental health. That is why it is better to avoid the consumption of medicines as much as possible and we should try to stay healthy in the natural way. Here are some of the fitness tips that would give you a better idea as to how you can remain healthy without consuming medicines:
  • Eating the right food at the right time - Eating the right food and that too at the right time is something that many people tend to neglect and that is why they have so many diseases in their body such as gastritis, heart burns, indigestion and many other diseases. The best way to avoid this is by having food that is healthy and eating it in the proper meal times. Adding vegetables and fruits in your diet and avoiding junk food would be the best way to start this process.
  • Chew instead of smoking - in the recent times you will find that 7 out of 10 people are addicted to smoking. We are all aware that smoking is very injurious to our health and so we must get rid of this habit. Many people say that smoking reduces tension and stress. This factor may be true, but we must remember that the feeling of relaxation that we get after smoking a cigarette is only short lived and in the long run it can cause other serious diseases such as oral cancer. If you want to keep something in your mouth to pass the time then you can always choose chewing gums. They are not at all harmful like cigarettes.
  • Regular Workout - In order to remain fit and to stay away from diseases it is important that you exercise regularly. Twenty minutes of workout sessions on a regular basis will definitely help you remain fit, healthy and cheerful.

Erectile Function, Exercise and Cardiovascular Fitness - Tips for Supporting Penile Health

While issues with erectile function are generally associated with aging, men at every stage of life may experience the occasional flop in the bedroom. Erectile dysfunction is a complex problem with a multitude of underlying causes, but the bottom line is that penis performance is an indicator of what is going on with the body in general, and especially with the heart.
Because erectile function is so closely related to cardiovascular health, it stands to reason that a healthy heart will more than likely lead to healthy erections. A monumental body of evidence has shown that men who exercise are more likely to have a healthy heart and circulatory system, as well as better erections. With this in mind, it is easy to conclude that getting in shape physically can help to promote penis health in addition to overall physical well-being. Following the simple tips discussed here can help men to integrate exercise into their weekly routine.
The link between exercise and cardiovascular health
It is important to be clear that "exercise" here refers to plain old cardiovascular exercise such as walking, jogging, or hitting the treadmill - not the "penis exercises" that are often promoted. Penis exercises generally refer to pelvic floor exercises that are suggested for men who are recovering from prostate surgery. Some sources claim that these movements can increase the size and strength of erections, but to date, no research has borne out this idea.
With that said, research has shown, time and again, that sustained physical activity improves the condition of the endothelium, which is the smooth lining on the inside of the blood vessels. This lining helps the blood to flow smoothly from the heart throughout the body, including to the penis, where it is needed to form and maintain erections.
The healthier this tissue, the better the blood flow, and therefore, the better the quality of erections; healthy circulatory tissue means less risk of developing performance problems. As an added benefit, men who exercise tend to feel more confident and attractive, boosting their sex drive and making them more appealing to potential partners.
Tips for including exercise in a busy lifestyle
Although most men understand the benefits of exercise and at least have plans to incorporate a fitness routine into their schedule, finding the time and motivation to exercise is easier thought about than accomplished. These tips can help to ease the transition to a regular routine:
1. Choose a fitness regimen that is enjoyable. For men who hate running, signing up to compete in the next charity 10K run is not likely to bring about the desired results. While they might start out with good intentions, doing something that just isn't enjoyable doesn't make sense. Men should choose a fitness activity that suits their interests. Hiking, swimming, biking or even gardening can help to boost heart health.
2. See a doctor first. Before jumping into an exercise routine, men who have been physically inactive should make an appointment to see their doctor for advice. Too much exercise or the wrong activity can lead to injury or worse, so it is best to consult with a professional beforehand.
3. Get the right nutrition. In addition to exercise itself, adequate nutrition is essential in maintaining the circulatory tissue of the penis. Vitamin C plays an especially important role in this respect, as it is an important component in building and repairing the blood vessels. Amino acids such as L-arginine are also important in maintaining adequate blood flow to the penis. Many of the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are needed for a healthy heart and circulatory system can be obtained from a healthy diet. The caveat here is that many of the nutrients ingested in the diet are not well-absorbed for distribution to the organ systems, and often, the pertinent nutrients are shunted to other organs before they can benefit the penis. Using a penis health formula (most health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) that is enriched with vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and antioxidants allows these ingredients to be directly absorbed into the penile tissue, helping to ensure that the penis is adequately nourished for healthy erectile function.

Top 4 Fitness Tips That Will Help You Look Ten Years Younger

Living in a healthy and fit body can be an amazing confidence builder. It can also, remove years from your appearance. To tell the truth, we all desire to keep that youthful look for as long as possible. Losing some unwanted pounds, will help you reshape your body. For most, the face will be the first area that will be notably different. Facial fine lines can be reduced and the new look will also bring on a new confidence in the way you carry yourself.
Take a mental look back 10 years ago and imagine what your weight was then. Let that weight be your milestone. Set your fitness goal for 2013, with that weight number in mind as incentive. Once you achieve that goal, parley your success and keep going. Below are four tips to make the journey easier.
Tip #1 - Go Shopping
Before you start your fitness quest, I suggest that you go shopping. Purchase that nice outfit in the size that you aspire to be. The thrill of shopping for clothes in a smaller size will help keep you motivated. Once you get your new outfit home, take a photo of it and post it on your refrigerator. This will be your daily reminder to stay on point.
Tip #2 - Get Rid of Bad Habits
Over the past 10 years, I am sure that you have developed some bad health habits that contributed to your weight gain. It's time to forge some good habits. A good place to start is in the kitchen. If what's in your refrigerator or cabinets, conflict with your fitness goals then, it's time for it to go. If it's open, toss it in the garbage. If it's unopened, bag for charity. As adults, we all know what is healthy and what's not. It's time to be honest with yourself and say "I don't need this stuff anymore". Bad foods only produce bad results.
Tip #3 - Exercise
As part of this whole process, exercise is a must. You don't even have to join a health club. As long as you've got gravity and a plan, you can get a good workout. Although you can lose weight without exercise, you must have muscle to facilitate the expenditure of calories. This means that if you decide to not take my advice, your results will come much slower than you want.
Tip #4 - You Must Hydrate
It's recommended that you drink at least eight 8 ounces glasses of pure water a day. This is not a difficult habit to start. Furthermore, if you start your day with a glass as soon as you wake up, it will be even easier. Weird but true. Remember, your body is mostly comprised of water. It's vital to your bodies' functionality, so drink up.

Winter Fitness Tips To Keep Your Body In Tip-Top Shape!

The winter season is filled with tempting dishes, delectable sweets, and yummy cocktails. It's easy to get swept up into the cycle of unhealthy eating. Don't worry, there are surefire ways to stay fit, and make healthy choices while enjoying this season. Here is a list of 7 fitness tips to keep you focused:
1. STAY FOCUSED! If you have a workout routine that's 3-5 times per week, stay focused! Don't lose sight of your goals. It's very easy to miss workouts, but trust us, your body will reap the rewards by sticking to a plan.
2. ONCE-A-DAY! Make sure that you get in at least ONE activity per day. Yep, that means getting up and moving your body! Walking, running, stairs, free weights, etc. If you can commit 30 minutes per day, you will be maintaining your body's muscle memory, and stamina.
3. BALANCE WITH MACRONUTRIENTS! We suggest a protein rich diet as protein increases your metabolism by 20%. Balancing protein with veggies is a definite way to burn those calories, while still building muscle mass.
4. LIMIT YOUR ALCOHOL INTAKE! There is nothing wrong with a cocktail here and there. Remember, this is the holiday season! We know how festive parties can be, with specialty holiday drinks, wine, and eggnog. For every one drink, follow up with a tall glass of water.
5. WATER, WATER, WATER!!! You know just as well as I do that water is vital to your body's overall health and digestion. While every person's body is different, on average, I recommend 3-5 tall glasses per day. We wash our faces and bodies every morning in the shower. Drinking water is like washing the inside.
6. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR! This ancient tonic provides smooth digestion, and overall wellness for your temple. Ingesting one teaspoon twice a day will work wonders, for inner and outer beauty. If straight Apple Cider Vinegar is to strong for you to gulp by the teaspoon, try diluting a teaspoon in one tall glass of water.
7. PROTECT YOUR SKIN! Dermatologist Dr. Neil Sadick warns that your skin is no less vulnerable to the sun's radiation during cold weather. This means that wearing protective clothing and sunscreen is JUST AS IMPORTANT during winter months. Make sure to bundle up when exercising outdoors!!!
Life is all about decisions. The decisions you make today affect your future. Decide to eat healthy, be active, live harmoniously, speak kindly, and act as an example. Start now. Begin anywhere!
